There are no settings in the cutters menu that need to be enabled in order to make the cutter read marks (*). \u00a0With this said-proper bidirectional from cutter to PC- PC to cutter is vital. \u00a0The following steps help the end users isolate the Cutter\/Connection\/PC (file, computer, workflow).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><em>*ISM mode and sensor offset adjust are menu options that can help with reg mark scanning and calibration. hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><strong style=\"font-size: 34px;\">IF UNSUCCESSFUL<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\">If it fails, please reset the cutter back to factory in <strong>step-2 below<\/strong> and try again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><strong>IMPORTANT:<\/strong>\u00a0If using 3rd party software like Onyx or Flexi Sign, etc. \u00a0Please make sure the software is recent enough to include the driver for your model, if the ARMS test works contact Tech Support of the software being used to confirm proper workflow as Graphtec can\u2019t help with this. \u00a0Another option is to try a small print and cut job from Cutting Master out of Adobe or Corel, if successful contact then your software manufacturer for support.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"preFade fadeIn\">STEP 1:<\/h2>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><strong>NOT ENOUGH SPACE AROUND THE IMAGE WHEN LOADING THE PRINT JOB TO THE CUTTER<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><strong>SOLUTION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\">Making sure you have the following spacing around the image when loading the print job on the cutter. \u00a0If there is not enough spacing from the push roller to mark, expand mode can be enabled to widen the cut area.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_divider _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"preFade fadeIn\">STEP 2:<\/h2>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><strong>INCORRECT CONFIGURATION OF MENU OPTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><span>Your print &amp; cut is processed and controlled by software, so there is no need to modify or enable any option in the cutters ARMS menu. \u00a0If settings are modified by accident it can cause misreading, offset, errors. All Graphtec software works on GPGL. \u00a0FlexiSign for example uses HPGL. \u00a0Please set accordingly.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><strong>D)<\/strong>\u00a0If the issue remains and other files cut fine recreate the registration marks on the file and print again &#8211;\u00a0when files are exported or saved to be opened and processed on a different computer, the registration mark layers can become corrupted. \u00a0There are other reasons that files can become corrupted.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_divider _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][\/et_pb_divider][et_pb_heading title=&#8221;Offset Issues&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; title_font_size=&#8221;29px&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][\/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\">When the cut line does not line up properly, it can be a simple fix depending on how the misalignment looks like.<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\">If all the cut lines are moved to one side either left, right, away, or closer to you while standing in front of the cutter that will be a simple calibration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\">If the cut line offset is going in different directions, the cause may be outside of the cutter. Follow these <strong>3-recommendations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><strong>#1 Recommendation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\">The registration mark method (4 marks or Segmented Marks) can affect the cutting accuracy. \u00a04-marks should be used on short job, less than 40&#8243; in length, for a job greater than 40&#8243; in length, segmented marks should be used. A set of segmented marks every 20&#8243; is recommended.<\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><strong>#2 Recommendation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\">If the offset is uniform check and adjust the cutter calibration<\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.graphtecamerica.com\/cp-faq-video-sensor-offset-adjust\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click \u00a0 &gt;&gt;\u00a0 Learn how to adjust sensor offset via the cutter control panel<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><strong>#3 Recommendation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\">In FC8000\/8600 models, the cutline is off about 1\/4 inch in the X-direction, please check the position of blade-holder on the cutting head. \u00a0Make sure it is in position 1 for kiss cutting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/graphtecamericapro.com\/graphtec-stg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Offset-Issues-286x300.png\" width=\"286\" height=\"300\" alt=\"Graphtec Offset Issues\" class=\"wp-image-987511905 size-medium\" \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"preFade fadeIn\"><strong>IMPORTANT:<\/strong> If using 3rd party software like Onyx or Flexi, Caldera.
